• with original unfinished ash handle to fix yourself in the eye of the ax - see the last photo. You can use an Iwasaki file or Shinto saw rasp to do it.
• with original ash handle hafted and finished with boiled linseed oil.The original handle leaves a gap in front of the axe eye, so we fill this gap with a removable wedge that securely holds the head and won't move due to friction caused by the slip-fit handle (see second to last photo).
• NEW : handcrafted ash handle finished with Danish oil (62 cm/24'') (see last photo).

• The Rough forge finish is as its name suggests: it will therefore be necessary to refine it with a file and sharpen it with a stone to be able to get the most out of its use.
• The basic sharpening gives it a well-honed and sharp bevel for better use and penetration into wood.
• The premium satin finish allows optimal geometry refinement coupled with sharpening and polishing which will maintain a formidable edge after numerous tough uses and will make regular maintenance of the blade on the whetstone easy, especially with the CotPyr. Look at the video for a demonstration of the finish.
