Product Details
Marque: Pierre à aiguiser naturelle des Pyrénées
Weight: 0.30 kg
This large ''Sharpens everything'' stone which measures 230 x 30 mm (9'' x 1.15'') is ideal for all types of gardening tools (billhook, pruning shears, hoe, etc.) but also for knives, axes and other sharp tools. It can be used freehand or placed down. Its elliptical shape allows it to work in difficult angles and to follow the line of the blade if it is curved. It is also very easy to carry everywhere.
Extracted in an open-air quarry, the soft or smooth stone, dark gray in color, is much more homogeneous than the hard stone. It will be used for finer and more precise sharpening.
It is important to understand that this is a natural stone and that there is no defined grain size, unlike stones made with abrasives which have their grain number.
The fact remains that the smooth stone is polished with water using an abrasive belt and to position this stone in relation to other stones, the manufacturer indicates approximately the equivalence of a grain of 1000.
With this long splitter you can easily split medium and large pieces of wood. Designed for high splitting effect thanks to the two "wings" on the tool head.
Super splitter, designed for hard work and for large, tough logs. The head is shaped like a very obtuse wedge to ensure a bursting effect of the wood fiber on contact. With a total weight of 8 lbs and 7.2 ounces (3.83 kg), no need to go too hard, gravity takes care of the rest!
Large forestry axe, Biscayne model, traditionally from the Basque Country, around Bayonne. It is an excellent ax for felling, pruning and ground cutting. It can also make a formidable splitter. Produced in Portugal by the forge Verdugo since 1928.
