Finally, there is a special combined natural stone composed of two natural stones: A Pyrenees sand stone with a grain of 1200 is glued to a Belgian blue Coticule with a grain of 6000.
The Pyrenees stone is used for initial sharpening to remove any burrs while the coticule sharpens with finesse and polishes the blade. Water or saliva should be applied to the sides of the stone before using it.
This small stone which measures 75 x 30 mm (3'' x 1.15'') can be easily carried anywhere with you, at camp or in the woods. It resists very low temperatures, even if it is wet.
It comes with a certificate of authenticity from the manufacturer, a small canvas bag to keep the stone and a small cardboard box to store it.
