We ask the BR Rinaldi forge to supply is with a longer log dog with perpendicular ends that follow the grain of the wood for otpimal grip. See the first picture for a clear understanding of the correct configuration : each end is parallel to the grain of the wood it is fixed to.
This is an essential tool for annyone serious about hewing timber with an axe.
It is hand forged by Rinaldi with spring steel of great hardness and robustness.
It is sold individually, with a discount for purchases of 2 or more.
To hold a log firmly in place, you need ideally 2 log dogs.
